Faculty Spotlights

Lucia Carvelli, Ph.D., joined the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College as a tenured associate professor and the ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ Brain Institute as an Investigator. Carvelli also holds a secondary appointment in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.

Laura Vernon, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology in the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, was ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ’s 2018 Distinguished Teacher of the Year, an award that is determined by ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ students.

Jacqueline Fewkes, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Anthropology at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, has written a number of articles on her research interests in topics as diverse as visual ethnography, transnational economic histories, development, leadership, and Islam.

Kevin Lanning, Ph.D., received ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ’s Award for Excellence and Innovation in Undergraduate Teaching during the 51st annual Honors Convocation Awards. Dr. Lanning was among the founding faculty members of the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, making this a particularly fitting award during the 20th anniversary year of the college.

Jacqueline Fewkes, Ph.D., is the recipient of a ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ Presidential Award for Outstanding Faculty-Led Community Engagement for Engaged Teaching. Dr. Fewkes is one of the three faculty members awarded during ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ's 51st Annual Honors Convocation Awards.
