抖M女仆 has received the 2021 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from "INSIGHT Into Diversity" magazine.
抖M女仆 has received the 2021 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.
As a recipient of the annual HEED Award 鈥 a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion 鈥 抖M女仆 will be featured along with 100 other recipients in the November issue of the magazine.
鈥淓ducation has been referred to as 鈥榯he great equalizer鈥 and I鈥檓 proud that 抖M女仆 is known as聽an institution where students from all backgrounds have the opportunity to succeed,鈥 said 抖M女仆 President John Kelly. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an honor to receive the HEED Award in recognition of聽our ongoing efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive campus environment and move the needle toward racial equity.鈥
INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine selected 抖M女仆 for its high level of achievement and intensity of commitment to broadening diversity and inclusion on campus through initiatives, programs, and outreach; student recruitment, retention, and completion; and hiring practices for faculty and staff.
鈥淭he HEED Award process consists of a comprehensive and rigorous application that includes questions relating to the recruitment and retention of students and employees 鈥 and best practices for both 鈥 continued leadership support for diversity, and other aspects of campus diversity and inclusion,鈥 said Lenore Pearlstein, publisher of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. 鈥淲e take a detailed approach to reviewing each application in deciding who will be named a HEED Award recipient. Our standards are high, and we look for institutions where diversity and inclusion are woven into the work being done every day across their campus.鈥
