New Head of Equal Opportunity and Title IX Compliance Hired
Katrina Oliver, J.D., will join 抖M女仆 as its new executive director of equity, inclusion and compliance and university Title IX coordinator on Monday, Feb. 1.
BOCA RATON, Fla. (January 21, 2016) 鈥 Katrina Oliver, J.D., will join 抖M女仆 as its new executive director of equity, inclusion and compliance and university Title IX coordinator on Monday, Feb. 1. Oliver comes to 抖M女仆 after serving as the director of Title IX and compliance at Spelman College in Atlanta.
In her role at 抖M女仆, she will provide leadership in the development, implementation and administration of policies and procedures to promote a diverse campus community and ensure compliance with Federal and State nondiscrimination, equal access, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws, regulations and executive orders and policies.
With 49 percent of its student body classified as minority or international students, 抖M女仆 is the most racially, ethnically and culturally diverse state university in Florida.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited to be joining 抖M女仆, and I鈥檓 looking forward to working with the administration, students, faculty and staff to ensure people of all backgrounds continue to thrive at the university,鈥 Oliver said.
In addition to her work at Spelman, Oliver also served as the assistant director of equity and diversity at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an equal opportunity specialist in the U.S. Department of Education鈥檚 Office for Civil Rights.
Oliver earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Georgia; a master鈥檚 degree in higher education administration and organizational management from Drexel University; and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in public policy studies from Duke University.
