Accounts & Access

Your 抖M女仆Net ID is the account name you use to log in to many of the systems you will utilize in your daily life at the University. It is part of your official 抖M女仆 e-mail address (e.g., 抖M女仆NetID@fau.edu). 抖M女仆 uses single sign-on for most applications. This means that you will use the same 抖M女仆Net ID and password for most of the applications offered to you as a student, faculty member, and/or staff member.

抖M女仆Net ID Activation


If you are a new user, prior to logging in to any of 抖M女仆鈥檚 systems with your new 抖M女仆Net ID, you must activate your 抖M女仆Net ID by visiting the 抖M女仆 Account Self-Services portal.听

STUDENTS

A student鈥檚 抖M女仆Net ID is generated upon admission to 抖M女仆. The 抖M女仆Net ID is provided to you in your acceptance letter with instructions on how to activate your account.

FACULTY & STAFF

Faculty and staff 抖M女仆Net IDs are generated when the onboarding process has been completed within Workday. You will receive an e-mail notification with your 抖M女仆Net ID and instructions on how to activate your account.

Note: Once you activate your 抖M女仆Net ID, we highly recommend that you take advantage of the SMS feature in the 抖M女仆 Account Self-Service system. The SMS feature enables you to reset your forgotten password by using a verification code sent via SMS.

抖M女仆Net ID Changes


Your original 抖M女仆Net ID (user name) is not subject to change. There are two exceptions: (1) if an error was made in the spelling of your name that affected the 抖M女仆Net ID assigned to you or (2) if you have legally changed your name (such as through marriage). Prior to changing your 抖M女仆Net ID, you must have had your legal name change recorded in the University database. To do this, faculty and staff must contact Human Resources; students must contact the Registrar鈥檚 Office. Once your name change has been officially entered, you may submit an 抖M女仆Net ID Change request.

Retired Faculty


Retiring faculty are eligible to keep their 抖M女仆 email address after leaving the University. The faculty member must make the request with Human Resources at the exit interview.

Departmental Account


A departmental account is created upon request from the department head or a designated representative. The accounts are accessed via the personal account in Outlook or Outlook Web Access.

Courtesy E-mail Addresses


A courtesy email can be requested by a department on behalf of guests, contractors, etc. who work closely with 抖M女仆. Courtesy accounts are active for one year at a time. The request must be submitted by the department head or a designated representative. If the account needs to be renewed when the year is up, a new request must be submitted for the account to remain active.
